when is the festival date?

October 10-11, 2026

Why did the festival dates change from March?

We're expanding to a full two-day festival for the first time in 16 years, and the October dates allow us to bring you more films, bigger guests, and a better overall experience.

Earlier this year, government disruptions and platform technical updates impacted our timeline, so we shifted to October to ensure a smooth, well-prepared festival for our filmmakers and attendees. Email correspondence has been sent to all filmmakers with updated details.

When do tickets go on sale?

Ticket sales open July 1, 2026. Early-bird pricing is available through March 31—lock in your pass before prices increase.

Is the party included in my ticket?

Yes for Platinum, Filmmaker, and Comedy Fan passes. Student passes include general admission.

How do I know what my pass gets access to?

Every screening, panel, and event on the schedule is labeled with which pass types can attend. You can filter events by your pass type to see everything your badge unlocks.

What's included in each ticket tier?

Platinum ($250): All-access to screenings, panels, filmmaker meet-and-greets, VIP lounge, and party

Filmmaker ($100): All screenings, panels, networking events, and party access

Comedy Fan ($75): All screenings, select panels, and general admission to the party

Student ($50): All screenings and general festival access (valid student ID required)

Is this a one-day or two-day festival?

Both days feature different films, panels, and guests. You can buy a single-day pass or a 2-day pass for full access to everything.

Can I upgrade my ticket after purchase?

Yes, contact us at hello@houstoncomedyfilmfestival.com and we'll help you upgrade to a higher tier.

Do prices increase closer to the festival?

Yes. Lock in early-bird pricing before April 1 to save around 20%. Prices will increase as we get closer to October.

Can I attend events outside my badge type?

Some events may offer limited rush‑line access for other pass types if seats are available. Check the event listing on the schedule for details.

I have a Filmmaker Badge but want to bring friends. What do they need?

Friends who want to attend screenings and parties should grab a Comedy Fan or Platinum badge. Certain filmmaker‑only events and lounges remain restricted.

Does my pass include the awards show and after‑party?

Platinum and Filmmaker badges include awards and after‑party access. Comedy Fan and Student options can add the party as an upgrade at checkout.

Are passes refundable or transferable?

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

We recommend arriving 15–20 minutes before doors open at 8:00 AM. Early arrival gives you time to check in, grab food/drinks, and find your seat before the opening remarks.

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH FOOD IN MY PASS?

The $75 Festival Pass and $100 Platinum Badge include a curated food selection (hot dogs, pizza, veggie options, snacks). The $100 Platinum also includes unlimited beer, wine, and soft drinks. The $50 Comedy Fan pass does not include food but you can purchase à la carte from our vendors.

Yes! Limited upgrades are available at the box office, subject to availability. Upgrades are first-come, first-served. We recommend purchasing your preferred tier in advance to guarantee access.

WHAT IS THE FILMMAKER LOUNGE AND WHO CAN ACCESS IT?

The Filmmaker Lounge is an exclusive networking space for filmmakers, industry professionals, and festival organizers. $75 Festival Pass holders and above get access. It's a great space to meet other creators, discuss projects, and make connections.

IS THIS A FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT?

HCFF features comedy content rated for adults 18+. While not explicitly family-oriented, some afternoon screenings may be appropriate for teens with parental discretion. Check the festival program for specific film ratings and content warnings.

WHAT IF I HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS OR ALLERGIES?

Please let us know at the box office when you check in. We have vegetarian and vegan options available. If you have severe allergies, please contact us in advance at [email] so we can accommodate your needs.
