With a background in dark comedy, Matt and Chris blend satire and emotional depth to tell stories about narcissists, outsiders, and the systems they fight—or exploit. Their award-winning short “Therapissed” and the Amazon Prime pilot “Millennial Impossible” showcase their knack for blending genre tropes with social critique, while their feature scripts push character-driven premises to their most ridiculous and resonant extremes.
Whether tackling speculative sci-fi or man-vs-society farce, Matt and Chris build grounded emotional arcs beneath the chaos, inviting audiences to laugh, reflect, and squirm. Their stories often ask: what if the worst parts of ourselves were also the most relatable?
Biography
Matt Hill and Chris Stone are writers, producers, and directors based in Chicago, Illinois. They met at Second City and have been collaborating on comedy sketches, short films, and television pilots since 2015. In 2020, their action-comedy pilot Millennial Impossible placed in the top five of the Dark Comedy category at the Austin Comedy Short Film Festival. The project was completed in 2021 and has since been distributed on multiple streaming platforms, including Amazon Prime Direct, Cinando, and Fawesome.
Millennial Impossible is their third TV pilot together. In addition to pilots, they have written numerous screenplays, comedy sketches, and unconventional children’s stories. Matt and Chris have also performed stand-up comedy in Chicago, including as a featured comedians in a 2019 show alongside two touring comics. Their latest short film, Therapissed, was named Best Dark Comedy at the Spring 2025 Atlanta After Dark Film Festival.
