hen the boys of South Park enter a bizarre contest to win a day with Keanu Reeves, chaos ensues as Randy’s misguided ambitions collide with the boys’ wild schemes, leading to a battle for survival that tests the limits of friendship, fame, and fan obsession.
Elizabeth says,”Currently studying at Second City, my main focus as a writer has been sketch comedy. I was inspired to write the whimsical, albeit gross, parody song sung by Cartman in one scene of this script because of a comment given to me on one of my sketches– an irreverent presidential monologue.
The remainder of the story was brought to life from there. I have an appreciation for absurd and unexpected humor, and this script was a fun chance to explore those comedic principles in a longer format.
In this script, I explore themes of celebrity culture and fan obsession, drawing parallels to societal quirks surrounding these issues, like the lengths to which some fans go to meet their heroes. The story also parodies both classic and more contemporary sci-fi in a way that satirizes corporate greed and consumerism. Through this script, I hope I am able to showcase my unique voice in a way that is enjoyable, thought-provoking, and imaginative.”
