anic ensues as our protagonist loses his phone containing rent money hidden behind the protective case. Upon using his soup-slurping landlord’s phone to call his own number, a self-described “Honest George” answers, claiming to have found it, happily offering to return the phone in exchange for a reward. Our protagonist — believing it to be stolen, and with no intention of paying the ransom — goes to the meet-point with a large steel wrench to retrieve the device by any means necessary.
Youssef says, “Spurred on by our lead actor, Obi D’meano, who asked if anyone had a script they wanted to make due to a brief opening in his schedule, this film became an experiment created through the collaboration of multiple filmmakers and actors who wanted to create something tragic in the dead of winter.”
Biography
Youssef Mutawe is a writer, director, and editor from Winnipeg, Manitoba, based in Toronto, Ontario, who spends his time making movies and helping people make movies. He is one-third of "Bleeckhaus" - a collective and production house which creates traditional and experimental films - located near the heart of downtown Toronto. With various films produced and in production at all times - both under the banner of "Bleeckhaus" and as an independent filmmaker - he is creating and assisting others in crafting stories which exist in the realms of fiction and non-fiction.
