Best Dark Comedy Feature Screenplay Award

The Infinity Thieves
Screenwriter

T

he Infinity Thieves features Bonnie Law, a retired veterinarian who is half (female) Jack Reacher and half James Herriot (All Creatures Great and Small) with a nod to Dr. Doolittle. Bonnie has Reacher’s biceps, Herriot’s humor and medical skills, and an almost magical ability to communicate with animals. The PG-13 screenplay is a dark comedy with Western and romantic elements.

What happens if a veterinarian tired of witnessing animal abuse goes rogue? Veterinarian Bonnie Law retired from the profession knowing she helped dogs, cats, and horses. But the abuse she witnessed sickened her. Who speaks for abused animals? Where’s justice for them?

Bonnie believes laws against animal cruelty are too lenient. With nothing to lose—she’s sixty, retired, and estranged from her only sister—Bonnie travels the country as a vigilante for animals. In her dually truck, towing a horse trailer housing her beloved, cranky Clydesdale, Bonnie protects what means most to her. In this PG-13 screenplay of suspense Bonnie encounters a horse theft ring in the Midwest. Their targets are the horses participating in a Fourth of July weekend celebration. But Bonnie’s motto is “have cast iron skillet, will travel.” The thieves are no match for Bonnie’s wit, tracking skills, and deadly accurate throwing arm.
Just because her last name is “Law” doesn’t mean Bonnie follows rules.

Note: Depictions of animal abuse or violence are off-screen and/or suitable for PG-13 audiences.
