F

eet On The Street With Alyssa Poteet is a genre bending comedy show, in the vain of Eric Andre’s Bad Trip or Sasha Baron Cohen’s Borat 2, that interweaves hidden camera pranks, in-character interviews, and scripted moments between a trio of lovable characters. All of the interviews, gags, and stunts in this show are performed with real people—not actors. This show toggles between the actual investigative report (think Dateline if they also featured man-on-the-street field reporting segments) and peaks behind the curtain of the news team’s unhinged struggles making it.

Episode 1 takes us back to the global catastrophe we’ll never forget: The 2020 Pandemic. During this era, we were bombarded with endless inconsistent information about the virus; now, FOTS News is opening up their vault to release a report that’ll finally give us closure… (hopefully…)

After hearing the wild theories of a mysterious man on Hollywood Boulevard– Alyssa takes a deep dive to confirm if his claims are true. The claim: That LA Mayor Eric Garcetti created the coronavirus to promote his personal mask company.

Alyssa goes undercover in full disguise to City Hall and Mr. Garcetti’s house, but no matter how hard she tries she can’t get in touch with the mayor. To make matters worse– her eccentric source from Hollywood Boulevard has mysteriously gone missing!

The story then devolves from a profiteering scandal into the potential murder of this brave whistle blower–with copious pranks & awkward interviews every step of the way!

From Director Jessie Sanchez & Creator Alyssa Poteet:

We made Feet On The Street With Alyssa Poteet because in a world where a con-man was religious America’s pick for president and people still can’t agree on whether or not the election was stolen from him, we feel that our democracy is having a misinformation crises. Not only are most Americans getting their news from unverified social media click-bait, but we’re stewing in a culture where the more you correct someone’s facts, the stronger they cling onto their false-beliefs.

So we set out to make a political comedy show that doesn’t lecture, that doesn’t feel like an attack, but instead gives people a reference of just how silly and absurd it is to unquestioningly believe everything you hear. By leading with ridiculous humor, we hope to disarm and inspire viewers on both sides of the political aisle to think twice before doubling down on a belief that they haven’t verified with a secondary source.

People are divided more than ever in this country, but the one thing that everyone seems to agree on is that at least some of the information we’re fed must be bullshit. Feet On The Street starts there.
