Four disillusioned American men, led by a self-styled dating guru, escape the “broken” US dating market for Medellin, Colombia. What starts as a quest for easy romance quickly spirals into a surreal nightmare of cults, cocaine, and hippos, forcing them to realize that their problems followed them across the border.
W
riter Statement:
Passport Bros is a satire about the transactional nature of modern dating and the delusion that geography can fix internal brokenness. It explores the “manosphere” mentality of treating romance like a failing stock market by pushing it to its most absurd, dangerous extreme. I wanted to capture the specific, internet-poisoned voice of a generation that believes everything can be optimized, only to discover that reality and wildlife cannot be hacked.
