Miranda suffers from a devastating curse: every man she’s loved has met a tragic end. Haunted by her latest loss, she considers her next move when she meets Bruno, a lonely boy coping with an abusive home. Miranda is determined to help him.

irector Statement:
There’s a lot of story packed into this dark comedy short. My goal in making this film was to provoke and challenge the viewer while getting them to laugh where perhaps they shouldn’t. This short is a truncated version of a feature film we’ve been developing for some time. I am very proud of the work we did in making this short film. I am so fortunate to have worked with these amazing actors and crew.
Biography
Aside from being a filmmaker, David Liban is the chairperson of the University of Colorado-Denver, Department of Film & Television. He holds an MFA from Brooklyn College and is a Fulbright Scholar. In 2023, his feature film, Publish or Perish, was released and won 20+ awards at festivals around the world, and currently available on major streaming outlets.
