Rronson J. Hawkins is an accomplished actor and instructor, bringing his dynamic experience and passion for the performing arts to this year’s festival. A native of Houston, Texas, Ronson holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas Southern University and is an alum of the renowned High School for the Performing & Visual Arts (HSPVA).
Early in his journey, Ronson had the privilege of auditioning for Chandra Wilson (“Dr. Bailey” from Grey’s Anatomy) and was one of just two recipients of her prestigious California Sermoon Joy Scholarship—an early testament to his commitment and talent.
Ronson is known for his SAG debut as “Leon” in Hallmark Mahogany’s film To Her, With Love, starring alongside Tobias Truvillion and Skye P. Marshall. His creative footprint extends through film, television, and theatre, with principal roles in
productions for networks and studios including Hallmark (“Mahogany” label), Netflix, TUBI, Apple TV, BET, and more. His screen credits feature projects such as The Corps (Netflix), B.A.S.H. (TUBI, Purple Heart Productions), Masquerade(Justin Williams Productions), The SZN (Apple TV, ShotWell Features), Unfinished Business: Kingston High(DealBreakers Films/TUBI), Crew Call (Ashley Films), and supporting and lead roles across commercials for brands like DoorDash, Dairy Queen, and Salesforce.
As a festival instructor, Ronson is excited to share practical industry insight, real-world experience, and a deep belief in the transformative power of the arts. His engaging, skill-focused workshops are inspired by his journey from scholarship recipient to award-winning actor and creative mentor, offering valuable guidance for students of all backgrounds.
