Another Night at Beaver's
Screenwriter
Another Night at Beaver’s is set in a strip club on the edge of hell and draws from classics like “Assault on Precinct 13” and “Tales From The Crypt’s Demon Knight.” It came naturally to Sumrall, who had the story in his head since 2009. However, it wasn’t until the passing of Wes Craven in 2015 that he felt compelled to finally put pen to paper.
One particularly slow Christmas Eve, a group of strippers and their criminal customers must defend their church-turned-strip-joint from an attack by satanic snot monsters in order to prevent the apocalypse and, in the process, discover that they are more than just a bunch of dancers with daddy issues.
Biography
Due to his passion for storytelling coupled with a quarter-life crisis, Jeremy Sumrall began screenwriting in the early 2000s, taking classes at Rice University’s Continued Studies program. As a lifelong fan of horror, he got his start in the film industry in 2007, when he was cast as the masked brute known as "The Beast" in the indie splatter SMASHER flick known as "SWEATSHOP", which got him on the cover of SCARS Magazine, as well as winning "Best Villain" by VIRUS MAGAZINE in Germany in 2012.
In 2013, Jeremy wrote and directed the love letter to slasher flicks "PICKAXE", starring Scream Queen Tiffany Shepis, A. Michael Baldwin from Phantasm, professional wrestler Shawn Hernandez, and SiriusXM's own Sal "The Stockbroker" Governale, which got him name-dropped on The Howard Stern Show.
Since then, he's written several award-winning short films, directed music videos, and has optioned and revised an action-exploitation script slated for production soon. He has developed a disciplined routine, writing almost daily.
He lives in a tiny town in Texas with his partner and 4 pets (2 dogs, 2 cats).
