ritter Statement:
This has been a passion project for numerous years now. I have worked in television for 11 years and have read hundreds of scripts. This idea came to me three years ago after I got a promotion at my dream job, but it didn’t seem to matter because I was single. After talking to countless women about this, it seemed almost all of them had a shared experience in their own unique ways. I started the script as a woman who felt lonely and isolated post-pandemic living in New York City. Page by page, I eventually changed the idea to celebrate the woman for all her accomplishments-making the people around her the “bad guys.” Once I started writing this, I couldn’t stop; I had so many ideas running through my head on how to make the main character super dynamic while bringing in real world problems with a whole lot of comedy.
Biography
As a child, Douglas possessed a boundless imagination, crafting intricate stories and creating worlds for friends to inhabit. This talent for spontaneous invention led to a memorable 5th-grade moment when, after discovering wet pastel chalk could be used as war paint, they directed an impromptu play about the first Thanksgiving. This creative spirit evolved over the years into writing and recording songs, but storytelling remained the central drive. Now, Douglas is enjoying a new chapter in screenwriting, bringing a unique and imaginative perspective to every script.
