Recently laid off Nora embarks on a cross-country road trip to visit her best friend, Esme—only to find herself stuck with Delphine, Esme’s cousin and the woman who left her in bed a month before. As miles pass on the road, the walls between them begin to break down, turning what seemed like just another life detour into something that feels like destiny.

riters Statement: After writing my debut rom-com, “Wishing on Stars”, a wholesome sapphic childhood friends to lovers romance, I wanted to go in a completely different direction with my next rom-com screenplay. This is a story about Nora and Delphine, strangers who had a one-night stand, only to be stuck together again on a road trip across the country to visit Esme, Nora’s best friend and Delphine’s cousin. The more time they spend together, the harder it is
to ignore the feeling that their one-night stand was only the beginning of something bigger. I grew up going on road trips, and I loved using these childhood memories as a catalyst for a rom-com. Nora and Delphine are opposites, but have both struggled to find a place they belong and feel deserving of love. And though their relationship may start out as just sex, it was fun telling a story of two strangers finding a home in each other with a sprinkling of funny shenanigans that they encounter on the road.
