Don’t F*** Your Brother is a vulnerable, taboo love story set against the fun and absurd backdrop of pledging. A timeless coming-of-age story touching on the messiness and rawness of young love. It’s a satirical dramedy with genuinely touching moments about finding intimacy in unexpected places. Fraternity life is often portrayed as shallow or toxic, but I wanted to reveal the vulnerability beneath the rituals—the laughter, the breakdowns, the quiet trust. This film reimagines “frat boys” not as caricatures, but as people we know and love: messy, complex, and searching for connection. By marrying absurd comedy with genuine emotion, the film reframes brotherhood as something funny, kinda gay, and unexpectedly human. Don’t F*** Your Brother breathes a fresh, subversive edge to the frat comedy genre.
Biography
Drew Naiburg-Smith is a writer, director, actress, and producer. She recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Cinema and Media Studies, and accidentally took a few business courses along the way. She was the Director and Head Writer for Bloomers, Penn’s premier musical sketch comedy troupe for underrepresented gender identities. She writes pilots, features, shorts, sketches, essays, and poems—all kissed with the love of humor and language. Her most recent short, Don’t F*** Your Brother explores identity and relationships through a sharply comedic lens.
