Credit Card Guarantee
A valid credit card is required to secure your reservation, but it will not be charged at the time of booking. Hotels will charge an advance deposit to the credit card on file when they receive the Houston Comedy Film Festival Housing & Travel reservations in the month leading up to the event. If you need to update the credit card number on file, you must provide the new information no later than ______________ After this date, we cannot guarantee that the deposit will be charged to the updated card.
If the card on file is no longer valid and the hotel is unable to process your deposit, they may cancel your reservation. It is your responsibility to ensure a valid credit card is maintained on your reservation from booking through arrival.
Payment
Guests are required to present a physical credit card at check-in for the payment of room, tax, and incidental charges. Make sure to have your payment method ready upon check-in.
If you will not have the credit card with you at check-in, or if the card is in someone else’s name (e.g. a company card), you must provide a Credit Card Pre-Authorization form directly to the hotel prior to your arrival. The hotel will only accept these forms after issuing your confirmation number in late February or early March.
Credit Card Pre-Authorization
Once you receive your reservation confirmation number in late February or early March, you can submit your credit card details directly to the hotel. The hotel requires the confirmation number to process your Credit Card Authorization. Forms and instructions will be available here in ______________
If you’re using a credit card that isn’t in your name, you must submit the authorization form to ensure the correct card is charged for your reservation, tax, or incidentals before arrival.
Prepayment
Credit card pre-authorization is the best way to cover your stay without having the physical card at check-in. If you prefer to pay for your room and tax in advance, you may do so when the hotel charges a deposit. Keep in mind that hotels will still require a credit card for incidental charges upon check-in.

Deposits
Most hotels will charge a deposit to the credit card on file when they receive the Houston Comedy Film Festival reservations in late February or early March. This information is outlined in the “Reservation Agreement” section of your booking confirmation email.
If you’d like to update your credit card details, please provide the new information no later than __________________ After this date, we cannot guarantee that the deposit will be charged to the updated card. If a credit card is no longer valid, the hotel will be unable to process the deposit and may cancel your reservation.
You can update your credit card details through the “Request for Change” link in your confirmation email, your festival account, or the same Shopping Cart used for your registration.
How to Change or Cancel Reservations & Waitlist Requests
Changes and cancellations must be made through the Houston Comedy Film Festival Housing & Travel service. You cannot make changes or cancellations directly with the hotel. Follow the steps below to update or cancel your reservation:
- Use the “Request for Change” link in your confirmation email.
- Select your reservation from the drop-down menu.
- Make your changes or select “Cancel.”
- Click “Submit” at the bottom of the page.
Important: Review your change requests carefully before submitting. Canceled nights may not be reinstated.
